For over a year, I have been pointing out how Patty
Licata (council) and her son Joe Licata (BOE) have been voting on things that
directly benefit their family members financially. Both have violated the ethics code for their
respective positions.
Just one more example is illustrated on the December
18, 2013 minutes (that went up this week).
Joe Licata voted to approve the “Labor Agreement Between the Lodi Board
of Education and the Lodi Education Association” in November. Board members with immediate family members
employed in the schools are prohibited from voting on this.
These are not
isolated cases with the Licatas. This
has become the norm.
Both Licatas should be censured and removed. Their conflicts of interest and unethical votes
only bring Lodi down.
