Throw Them All Out! Schrieks and Paparozzi Have Gamed the System Enough.

From Tonight's Council Meeting:

Lodi should be so grateful because the County of Bergen is paying for Marc Schrieks' health benefits now.  But don’t get too excited.  If Joan Voss gets thrown out of office in November, the taxpayers of Lodi will be paying for his Marc's benefits again.

Marc and this administration refused to support an ordinance to bar ALL part time elected officials from receiving taxpayer funded health benefits now or in the future.

Marc Schrieks didn’t know why he needed to create a new town job (Title: Annual Technical Inspector) for former Mayor Gary Paparozzi.  He asked Tony Luna to explain.  Luna said some used car lots can only hold so many cars.  So they created a job for Gary Paparozzi to count the number of cars and issue fines.  When asked if anybody issued fines before, they responded that Frank Corso did.   But Mr. Corso didn’t receive Paparozzi’s pay or perks.

Nobody in the administration could explain why Paparozzi was entered into the Public Employees Retirement System in 2012 when a new state law that went into effect on May 21, 2010 prohibits it.

All new part-time employees, defined in the law as those working less than 32 hours per week, no longer qualify for PERS but will go into the Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.”

You can see from the above link that the definition of “continuous” is not on Paparozzi’s side either.

This administration also said that Gary Paparozzi is buying back his years as a part-time councilman. This will allow him to game the pension system even more.

Nobody could explain why the following number was submitted for Marcel Wurms’ base salary in the pension program when he was supposedly removed from the pension months earlier.  Nobody knew what salary was submitted for him in 2012 or 2013.

Nobody could explain why a former Lodi library employee (Christina Park) appeared on this month’s health insurance bills when she hasn’t worked for Lodi in over a year.  Lodi’s bills for her coverage this month (February 2014) were $714.06 for health benefits and $185.84 for presciption.  She apparently worked for Lodi from April 2010-November 2012.  Marc Schrieks didn’t know whether or not she was even an employee of Lodi.  Councilwoman Fiduccia at least knew that she wasn’t.   Nobody could explain why she would be on the bills today.  They will have to look into it.  This appears to be complete incompetence on Lodi’s part.
