Luna is not law enforcement and he did not receive his benefit through a labor agreement. But don't tell him that.
After years
of seeing caps imposed on most NJ public employees, the Lodi council did not
even put a reasonable cap "on the table” when they gave Luna a brand new contract beginning
January 1, 2014.
And who actually is keeping track of Mr. Luna’s
days? Every budget has to provide an “Analysis
of Compensation Absence Liability” listing a number of days and value.
In 2010, Luna is not even listed.
In 2011, there is a $15,000 value listed for Luna
without listing a number of days.
In 2012, there is a $46, 134.36 value with 87 days
listed. How can the value of Luna’s
unused days grow $31,134.36 in just one year?
In 2013, there is a $48,255.48 value with 91 days
listed. As the days increased by 4, the value increased by $2121.12. The value of one unused day at the time for Mr. Luna was $530.28.
Are they just making up numbers for Luna’s days as they go along or
are they just winging their budgets?
And how can someone determine whether or not Mr. Luna uses any days when his contract doesn't even have a defined work week?
