How much money did Gary Paparozzi make from his
townhouse projects while
he was mayor? How many
variances was he awarded by board members that he appointed?
This council not only handed Paparozzi a no bid
contract as “Planner” for the boards, it also created a NEW position for him called “Technical
Inspector”. Having Paparozzi in
these positions is like having the fox guarding the henhouse. Should board members be acting on his advice?
Currently, there is a controversial plan before the
Zoning Board. It proposes that a single family house be replaced with a
nine unit multi-family dwelling on Harrison Avenue. This would be a windfall of cash for the new
owner of the property that purchased it on July 8, 2013 for $250,000. This price was well under the assessed value and the
market value.
We have a governing body that tells the regular residents that they cannot knock down an old one family house on a 50 x 100 lot and replace it with a new two family.
At the same time, they have a different set of
standards for the politically connected and wealthy. This group can buy their
influence through elections, money, and their attorneys' political connections. They can build as much as they like,
wherever they like. Serious
environmental issues could even be ignored.
Marc Schrieks ran with Paparozzi twice and served
with him for 8 years. Apparently for Marc, Integrity
is NOT the Issue. This is what
Marc said about Paparozzi after he served with him and before he signed the
no-bid contract:
