2014 Tax Appeal Judgments: $407,623.

Since 2007, Lodi has seen years a lot worse than 2014 with regards to tax appeal judgements.  Anyone can do the math to see that Lodi had to of lost millions in tax revenue since 2007.  That cost is added to everyone that didn’t have their taxes lowered.

It would have been so much less expensive and a lot fairer if Lodi had a reassessment during that time period like almost every other town in Bergen County. Many towns had two reassessments since 2007.

How can they justify their inaction on this matter?  They were stating that home values were at 98% as the judgements were piling up.  They were lowering the taxes for so many “family and friends” “in house” while they were arguing against a reassessment for all.

The council added Resolution 15-73 at the end of tonight’s meeting.  It wasn’t part of the agenda and it was never explained.  The council is playing a game with the 2% cap.  The resolution included the $407,623 number.
