Stuck in the past and desperate to maintain its corrupt ways, the Lodi mayor and council have prevented Lodi municipal elections from moving to November...

Link to northjersey.com:

Mayor Emil Carafa, Councilman Vincent Martin, and Councilman Albert DiChiara could have moved Lodi’s municipal elections from May to November like every other normal community has done.  All three refused to.  So only Lodi and Passaic are holding municipal elections this May.

Years ago, I suggested to the mayor and council that they move the municipal elections from May to November for all the obvious positive reasons.

The move would have saved Lodi a lot of tax dollars.  The move would have given the Lodi schools an extra day without disruption (one less half day schedule and one less day of voters entering two school buildings). The move would have guaranteed a greater voter turnout.

Why would the PRIDE candidates oppose moving Lodi’s municipal elections to November?  Corrupt incumbents are more likely to maintain power when people don’t vote.

The PRIDE’s refusal to move our municipal elections to November is just one more reason to throw them out on May 14th.
