A few years ago, there was an ethics complaint against
Garfield BOE Trustees. The Record and
Community News did several stories on it (some of the links are posted at the
bottom).
Currently, there is an ethics complaint against BOE
President Joe Licata (involving Ciofalo).
The issue is a lot more serious than Garfield’s. It is more serious than complaints against other districts in which the papers covered.
Licata
and his attorney have received two unfavorable decisions so far and the case is
moving forward.
Neither paper has covered anything. Both papers are in possession of the two decisions
from the State. The Ethics Commission
found probable cause after they denied Licata’s motion to dismiss.
Why aren’t the papers covering Lodi?
The Record printed a story about an ethics complaint
in Palisades Park a few months ago.
