Would spending $7.5 million on an office building for 22 employees be a reason why Lodi has such high taxes?

A frequently asked question to the Tax Collector is “Why are taxes so high?” The answer on the Borough website is unacceptable and disingenuous. Lodi may be the tenth largest district in Bergen County but it receives the second most State aid, only behind Garfield. The Lodi politicians need to stop making excuses.

The Lodi BOE is spending $7.5 million on an office building for 22 employees. No grant money. 100% tax dollars. Would that contribute to Lodi’s high taxes?
