From Today’s Record: North Jersey school aid
Lodi will receive $14,508,710 in state aid- the second
most in Bergen County (only behind Garfield which is an Abbott district).
Compared to two neighboring towns, Lodi will receive
$13,376,577 more than Saddle Brook and $13,336,306 more than Hasbrouck Heights.
Compared to two larger urban districts, Lodi will receive
$1,545,036 more than Hackensack and $3,612,373 more than Bergenfield.
With the
infusion of all this state aid, the Lodi politicians still manage to give Lodi one of the highest tax rates in Bergen County and a district performing
at the bottom.
Why would the State give Lodi almost $15 million is school aid when Lodi is spending $7.5 million on a lavish office building for
approximately 24 employees?
Governor Christie ran as a reformer and turned out to
anything but that. He is part of the
status quo, enabling the Lodi politicians to waste millions of State tax
dollars.
